Current Certifications: BodyJam, Sh’bam, and WERQ
Something many people don’t know is I weighed over 200 pounds after my 2nd pregnancy. I lost it through healthy eating, exercising, and teaching group fitness. Just 17 months ago at the age of 42 we were blessed and surprised with a third child. I again weight well over 200 pounds. I’ve since lost over 75 pounds reaching my goal weight.
I started teaching group fitness because I had gained a lot of weight with a pregnancy and didn’t feel good about myself. A very special lady at my local YWCA took me under her wing and I started teaching a program called The New Face of Fitness. I started my group exercise journey teaching from a chair and then it just progressed from there. I became certified as a Personal Trainer, received my Group Fitness Certification and later obtained my Les Mills certifications in BodyJam and Sh’bam.
The think I love most about leading group exercise is that I love to dance and I love the stage! Leading group exercise allows me to share my passion for dance with others, get a really great workout, smile, laugh, and I have made some amazing friendships along the way!
