On Tuesday, March 1 the RiverPlex’s Kidz Korner child care area is reopening as PlayHouse at the Plex.
The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum has redesigned the space with areas for creative and imaginative play, using many of the same toys that children love playing with in the museum. Staff for PlayHouse at the Plex will be PlayHouse staff, experts in play facilitation and helping children grow their curiosity and creativity.
While this space is a convenience for parents who want to make exercise a part of their day for their own health, it also fosters health in children. Play is essential to children’s health, actually enhancing brain structure and function. Through play, children learn to solve problems, collaborate with others, think creatively, and more.
