August Class Spotlight

For the month of August, our class spotlight is Body Flow. Therefore, every class you attend, you get to submit a ticket for a chance to win some prizes at the end of the month!

So, what is Body Flow? This class is a 45-60 minute (60 minutes unless otherwise noted on our schedule) class that’s a mixture of yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi. Throughout the class you will bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga poses, while practicing control of your breath. Because of this bending and stretching, you’ll notice quite a bit of lengthening throughout your muscles. This lengthening is great for those that sit at a desk most of the day or for those that attend a lot of cardio and strength classes throughout the week.

If you’ve ever attended a yoga class before, Body Flow may be slightly different in that the music is more popularized and you move in sequence with it, versus only your breath. Therefore, those that have found yoga too slow paced, may enjoy Body Flow more.

Body Flow is great to use during a rest day, as the focus isn’t on the calories burned, but on all of the benefits that the class can provide. It is also great to pair with a workout to wind down for the day.

The class always starts with a warm up and sun salutations series, strength and balancing poses during class for every area of the body and ends with relaxation time. You’ll feel calm and centered, but feel the strength and lengthening when walking out of class.
