The RiverPlex houses a number of fitness, recreation and wellness services, all under one roof. Our members have access to all of these items.

Fitness Floor

Work out with a great view of the Illinois River!

Our fitness floor features over 200 pieces of premium fitness equipment, including treadmills, Precor EFXs, recumbent bikes, NuSteps, Concept II rowers, Cybex Arc Trainers and more. Our strength training line from Matrix includes both selectorized equipment and free weights.

An 1/8 mile indoor running & walking track circles above the arena.

Spin Studio

We feature the Les Mills classes RPM and SPRINT in our first-floor cycling studio. All of the cycles are Matrix Livestrong S-Series, featuring a bottle holder, adjustable drop handlebar, and dual speed pedal.

Group Exercise

Group exercise at the RiverPlex is for everyone at every fitness level! Each class is tailored for a safe, effective and fun workout by instructors who will provide modifications to fit your needs. Our classes are a great way to relieve stress, burn calories, tone muscles and provide a renewed sense of well-being, all while experiencing a sense of community and support. All group classes are free with your membership. Classes are 60 minutes unless otherwise noted.

Water & Land Group Exercise Classes

Perfect for those looking to make splash by adding a low-impact, high energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine.  There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua-Zumba class so you can really let loose.  Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging.

Join us for a workout in the warm water to improve your joint range of motion and strength.  There are steps to make it an easy entrance into the pool.

This is the ultimate cardio class!  This Les Mills cardio format focuses on athletic conditioning and training through plyometrics, running, agility and power moves to get the heart pumping! It also includes some upper and lower body strengthening. This class provides great training for runners and anyone looking to improve their cardio fitness.

A Les Mills class that combines Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates. This workout builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to incredible music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

This is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. A martial art inspired class, this fiercely energetic program draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and Muay Thai. No experience necessary! Punches, kicks and more will be broken down for an easy to follow, ridiculously fun and powerful workout.

Our most popular class! Get on the fast track to a strong and toned body. Les Mills Body Pump is a resistance training workout that combines barbells, free weights and awesome music for a strength focus while elevating your heart rate. This class is perfect for men and women of any fitness level. You don’t want to miss this class!

This is a cardio step workout that will make you feel alive and energized through a perfect combo of athleticism and SASS! Using a height-adjustable step, this exhilarating workout provides cardio blocks to push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning to shape and tone your entire body. This is a fun workout!

Looking for a short, sharp workout that’ll inspire you to the next level of fitness, while strengthening and toning your body? This 30-minute class really hones in on the torso ad sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body. It’s ideal for tightening your stomach and backside, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention.

Fire in Motion is a fun, familiar style of dance fitness that covers all genres of music, accessible for all fitness levels. Perfect for both music and fitness lovers. It’s so fun, you’ll forget it’s exercise!

This series of full-body workouts mixes multi-joint movements and loaded exercises to build athletic strength, increase muscle tone, and push you to get fitter and stronger for everyday life. The creative movement and structure mean that at the same time as building muscle, you lift your heart rate and improve athleticism and power. 

GRITis a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and body weight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. Cutting edge HIIT is combined with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

HIIT RIDE is a 30 minute cycling class featuring today’s hit songs. Work is focused on these phases on the bike: power, strength, speed, endurance and Tabata. You’ll love this short, fast paced class!

This class is perfect for strengthening your core muscles while developing strength, flexibility and balance. It is also great for developing your mind and body connection. This class has dedicated participants, so come and share the experience with them.

This 45-minute cycling class will take you on the ride of your life and is the ultimate indoor group cycling experience. This simulated bike ride is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. You ride at your own pace, whether you want a tough ride or want to build endurance. This class will have your legs burning while improving overall cardiovascular health.

Shapes is a dynamic full-body, targeted workout that uses small, controlled movements and repetition to isolate muscles, sculpting and strengthening all areas of the body. Suitable for all fitness levels, we find the hot spot and stay there for as long as possible to develop core strength and flexibility.

Take your training to the next level with a workout that’s all about quick results. SPRINT is built on the science of high-intensity interval training (HIIT). It’s a 30-minute hard style of training that returns rapid results with minimal joint impact. The short duration will motivate you to push your physical and mental limits. It features bursts of intensity where you work as hard as possible, followed by periods of rest that prepare you for the next effort. You can burn calories for hours after a good HIIT workout.

A 45-minute class that heroes the essential elements of resistance training. Each workout focuses on developing fundamental strength elements in a balanced and consistent way. Using different training protocols including tempos and rep ranges, STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT will improve muscular strength, hypertrophy and power.

Turn Up Dance Fitness is a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) inspired dance fitness workout. You will Work, Shake, Flex, and Slay your way through a fun, challenging workout that will get you results.

WERQ is the fiercely fun dance fitness workout class that combines chart topping pop, rock, and hip-hop music with fun, easy to follow dance moves. The signature WERQ warm-up previews the dance steps used in class and the signature WERQ cool-down includes balance and yoga inspired poses. Are you ready to WERQ?

This is an all levels, general yoga practice. Come with an open mind, leave with an open heart. Never tried Yoga? Our certified yoga instructors are here for you! Classes are tailored to participants making this a great option for beginners and for those who practice regularly.
