At RiverPlex Sports Performance, our overall goal is to develop the person, and not just the athlete. Gaining the knowledge and skills to be successful not only in athletics, but in life.

We have over 10+ years of experience specific to sports performance in the middle school through professional levels. Graduate level schooling specific to sports performance, exercise science, and physical therapy making our programs scientifically and physiologically sound, and practically proven. Experience serving as head sports performance coaches at the high school through D1 SEC levels, working with over 20 different sports, 100s of different teams, and 1000s of different athletes.

Current Training Options

R.Y.F.P Summer Program

R.Y.F.P. – Reach Your Full Potential with our most comprehensive and integrated training block. You will train up to 3 days per week, working on all aspects of athletic performance in a carefully periodized and individually planned program. Athletes with more availability or summer off-seasons will also have the opportunity to attend our additional movement skills and energy system development sessions on their off-days from regular training.

Movement Skill / Energy System Development

In depth technical work on all movement skills, programmed specific to individual’s sport and position. Recommended for athletes who need additional speed and quickness, as well as athletes not in summer ball who need extra energy system development.

Typical Workout Routine

Our workouts and programs are customized to each athlete or individual based upon their physical and mental needs and goals. Individual emphasis in certain areas, exercises chosen, and the plan to success will change, but a typical workout will contain the following:



– General exercises promoting blood flow

– Trigger point therapy, foam rolling, general flexibility


General and Specific Corrective Exercise and Neuromuscular Activation

– Prepare your mind and body for the workout

– Correct muscle imbalances and movement patterns that could lead to potential injury


Dynamic Warm-Up

– Specific warm-up drills designed to activate key muscle groups and loosen stiff joints

– Increase flexibility, decrease soreness, and increase neuromuscular rate


Speed and Change of Direction

– Focus will vary each day according to the plan that will best help you reach your optimal potential and decrease the chances for injury

– Resistance training exercises focusing on maximizing motor unit recruitment to promote optimal strength and power gains

– We are not training to create Olympic weightlifters, we are training to achieve the sport-specific qualities necessary for success


Team Competition and Energy System Development

– Competitions will vary based upon individual, group, or team training

– Developing sport-specific stamina and endurance utilizing research and physiologically supported means of training that will result in the necessary adaptations physiologically and mentally through team building and competitive drills
